Suzanne Clark, Author

One of the first times I said “I’m an author,” I stumbled over the words. Now I say it with ease: I am an author. You don’t have to be published to enjoy the thrill of writing something, setting it aside, and read it weeks or months later, only to say “Wow! I wrote that!” This is my author’s website, a writing work in process.

The picture to the left is in Jefferson, Colorado.

My writing career began with professional publications in the accounting field, yet it wasn’t until 2009 that I began to write fiction. I’ve written numerous short stories, flash fiction, fairy tales, and two novels. I write stories about families and their conflicts, often with complex female protagonists, and frequently with a touch of magical realism. My flash fiction has been published and I loved that feeling. I am excited to publish more of my work, particularly my second novel, Harper’s Corner, a multi-generational tale of healing, magic, and fighting for the family home set in a small Colorado town.

When I’m not at the keyboard, I can be found lovingly arguing with my children, walking the dogs, or hanging out with neighbors on the front lawn.

I thank my great niece, Kennedy Clark, and my daughter, Chelsea Isabella Clark-James, for their help and creative guidance in building this website.
